Throwback Thursday - College Graduation 1975

June always brings graduation memories.  This picture was taken on the day I graduated from college in 1975.   I had been elected by the students to deliver some commencement remarks, which I did, with more than a bit of humor and, because I was a bit of a "Wise Apple" as Sr. Margaret used to call me back in high school, quite a lot of sarcasm.  One of my heroes back then (and still) was Groucho Marx, which explains a lot.  Not the speech I would have given today, but I was only 21 and pretty sure of myself.   Ahh, youth.   Anyway, it was a great day, memorable in more ways than one.  And I have happy memories of some wonderful professors, friends, and the beautiful campus at Ramapo College in New Jersey.

The official Commencement Speaker, standing next to me, looking very handsome in his cap and gown (some men can just carry that look off without a hitch), is Senator William Proxmire.

Congratulations to all this year's graduates!
