Today is Wear Red Day 2018!

This picture is from the 2017 Go Red for Women Luncheon, an annual event sponsored by the American Heart Association to educate and motivate women about lifestyle changes that will protect them from heart disease.  This is an on-going, coordinated effort, and today, February 2 we wear red in support of the effort and as part of a one-day fundraising campaign.

In the picture with Michelle and me is Tina Vaitkus, heart attack survivor and featured speaker at the 2017 Luncheon.  She and her enthusiasm will be with us today in the studio to tell us more about Wear Red Day and the importance of the Campaign it represents.

Besides lowering the risk for cardiovascular disease, what I like best about the Go Red Program is the joining together in solidarity and mutual concern by all members of the community, both men and women, and the organizations and health professionals who are dedicated to everyone living happier, fuller, healthier lives, free of a disease which is largely preventable!  Everyone "wins"!
