A Former Army Gunner Told She’d Never Walk Again Does For Her Wedding

A physically handicapped bride makes her

A former gunner for the British Army was told she’d never be able to use her legs again after being injured, but she recently surprised her groom by walking down the aisle at her wedding. Emma Kitson joined the Royal Artillery when she was 18, but she had no idea that the heavy shells she was carrying during her service were slowly damaging her spine.

After being in a wheelchair for seven years, Kitson was determined to walk down the aisle when she got married. She worked extremely hard on strength training so she could make the 20-foot trip to the altar without her wheelchair. And when she tied the knot recently, she was able to walk it, completely surprising her new husband, Chris.

“I am really happy that I ended my single life walking, and started my married life walking,” the bride says
