Earlier in the week, students at SUNY New Paltz had to leave campus due to a water ban in the Town of New Paltz. I spoke yesterday with a resident of the town that said her dishes have piled up, her laundry baskets are full, but grateful to a friend who allowed her to come to her home and take a shower! This after the Town of New Paltz water was reported to have a strong and strange odor and the Ulster County Department of Health and other officials were testing the Town's water.
The Governor's Office reported that after extensive testing shows that now the water is safe to drink and residents and businesses are urged to flush out their systems to get rid of any standing water from earlier. Here's the story from Albany!
