Dutchess County Business Updates For August 18, 2020

·Guidelines have been released by the state for gyms and fitness centers to reopen. These facilities may reopen starting August 24, unless the locality where these facilities are reopening decide to extend the reopening date. Facilities must operate at 33% capacity, have a MERV-13 air system or better, be inspected by a local health inspector no later than 2 weeks after opening. The guidelines can be found HERE.

·The U.S. Department of Labor has released guidance for the Lost Wages Assistance Program. This is the program created by presidential memorandum to supplement Unemployment Insurance. The guidance can be found HERE.

·The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has created a side-by-side comparison summary of the proposed House and Senate COVID-19 relief packages. The summary can be viewed HERE.

The Small Business Development Center has released a number of checklists and assessments to assist businesses in determine if they should reopen and how to plan for the future. Those checklists can be found HERE
