Manhunt ends with arrest in Town of Wallkill murder

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police have ended a manhunt for a suspect in a fatal shooting outside a Town of Wallkill bar back on November 3, 2019.
Jamaad Mikal Murphy, 37, of Middletown, was arrested at a residence in the Town of Ramapo.
He was charged with murder in the shooting death of Matthew Napoleoni outside the Made in Puerto Rico Latin Cuisine and Sports Bar in Wallkill.
Murphy was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.

The intensive 14-month manhunt that led to his arrest involved the State Police, FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, US Attorney’s Office, Rockland and Orange County DA’s offices, town police in Ramapo, Haverstraw and Newburgh, City Police in Newburgh, Jacksonville, Gastonia Police Department, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departments in North Carolina and New York Drug Enforcement Task Force.
