Dozens line Main Street to pay their respects to fallen soldier

WARWICK – Army National Guard Warrant Officer Daniel Prial returned home on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Warwick native was one of three National Guard members killed on January 20 when their helicopter crashed during a training mission near Rochester.
Prial’s body was brought through downtown Warwick. Main Street was lined with fire trucks and residents carrying American flags.
One of those who came out to pay her respects was his former high school English teacher, Alison Gray.
“He was the most energetic, full of life, wisecracking, hilarious kid, always with a smile, and really one of the most generous people, and a true leader, even in high school. Just to be around Danny was to be happy,” she said.
Funeral services for the U.S. Military Academy graduate will be held on Saturday with burial at the West Point Cemetery.
