Over 1,800 traffic tickets written by State Police over Super Bowl weekend

HUDSON VALLEY – State Police in Troop F issued 855 vehicle and traffic law violation tickets during the February 5, 2021 Super Bowl weekend. 
From 5 p.m. Friday, February 5, through 5 a.m. Monday, February 8, state troopers in Troop F issued tickets for 225 speeding violations, 23 distracted driving violations, nine seatbelt violations, 12 child restraint violations, nine move-over violations, and removed 23 impaired motorists from the roadway.  
State police also responded to 29 vehicle accidents. 
Troop F includes Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, and Greene counties.
State Police in Troop K issued 1,009 vehicle and traffic law violation tickets during the February 6 Super Bowl weekend.  
From 5 p.m. Friday, February 5 through 3 a.m., Monday, February 8, troopers included two special STOP-DWI details in Westchester and Columbia counties. The STOP-DWI detail in Columbia County additionally made felony drug and weapon arrests.
Troop K includes the counties of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Columbia.
