Stolen Car Victim Googled Set Your Car on Fire So It Looks Like an Accident

We're so used to asking Google EVERYTHING that we forget there are times that's a terrible idea.

There's a 54-year-old guy named Donald Cassidy from West Newton, Pennsylvania. And a few weeks ago, he reported his 2010 GMC Acadia had been stolen.

The cops found it in some woods nearby. It had been set on fire, but the VIN number was still visible.

As they investigated, they started to get suspicious that Donald staged the whole thing.

And when they got a warrant to look through his phone's Internet history, they found that before he called in the car theft, he'd searched for, quote, "how to set your car on fire and make it look like an accident."

He was arrested for arson, filing a false report, and risking a catastrophe.
