I guess this guy's never heard of eBay . . .

36-year-old Matthew Robinson went to a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Altoona, Pennsylvania on July 3rd.  (About two hours east of Pittsburgh.)

And he walked off with almost $2,000 worth of clothes and shoes he didn't pay for.

He packed it all in his car and could have just left. But he decided to walk back into the store . . . and RETURN something he didn't want.

It's not clear if he tried to get a refund, or just had no use for it and wanted to give it back. But when he walked in, they accused him of stealing. So he took off.

Cops were able to track him down using surveillance footage from the store. He's facing charges for retail theft and receiving stolen property.
