Airplane passengers don't just act crazy once they're on the plane. They do it in the terminal too . . .

A 46-year-old woman named Marina Verbitsky was supposed to be on a JetBlue flight from Fort Lauderdale to Chicago on Monday with her husband and son.

But the three of them didn't get to their gate on time and missed their flight. So she flipped out . . . started swearing at the JetBlue workers . . . and then claimed there was a BOMB in her checked luggage.

It's not clear if she was trying to delay the plane, or if she was just angry. But they had to evacuate all the passengers on the tarmac and search the plane for explosives.

She spent a night in jail before posting bond. She's facing charges for falsely reporting a bomb, and has to get a mental health evaluation.

Her family says she was worried her son would miss school the next day, so that's why she did it.
