This is so dumb, it's hard to believe it really happened. But it did: Cops near Baton Rouge recently got several reports about a sinkhole in the middle of the road. At least two people said they had to swerve to avoid it and almost crashed.

So police went to check it out, but couldn't find a sinkhole. They did find something else though. It turned out someone had left a "WHOLE SINK" in the road. As in a bathroom sink, countertop and all. Someone at dispatch apparently just misheard it as "sinkhole."

It's not clear how the sink got there, but it was right around the corner from a Home Depot. So maybe someone was remodeling and left their old one behind. Cops moved it out of the road. Their Facebook post about it this week got a huge reaction online.
