Each week we touch base with our local animal shelters to see what pets need to find a good home. We'll post all the information on how you can adopt these pets right here every week, along with pictures of the Pet of the Week.
All animals can be adopted from the Dutchess County SPCA. Please call them at 845-452-SPCA (7722) or visit them at 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538. The DCSPCA is always in need of blankets, towel and bedding supplies. Please visit their website at www.dcspca.org for more information.

The Humane Society of Walden is a non-profit organization founded in 1974 by volunteers dedicated to helping stray and abandoned cats and dogs. Their animal shelter serves the communities of Montgomery, Walden, Maybrook, Pine Bush, Hamptonburg and Shawangunk.

Meet our featured pets...
Lady Snow was brought in as a stray. She is an Eskimo/Basenji mix who will make a good pet with a little training. She's approximately 2-3 years old.
Mary is approx. 4 years old - Shepherd Mix.. She came in as a stray. She is housebroken and is sweet. 
Ninja is a five month old Dane / Boxer puppy about 25 pounds, however she is deaf. 
She is a beautiful tiger tabby approx. 3 years old. She is sweet and timid - needs a loving, quiet home with a picture window to watch the birds.
This Beagle is 10
years old and a sweetheart of a girl!!! Unfortunately she has had cancer,
however, has many years to bring happiness and companionship to a family. She
needs a retirement home, however, is far from quiet. She is very vocal and
happy. 
Jazzy is a Lab Mix and Augie, a Chow Mix are both 40 pounds and are available for adoption at the Dutchess County SPCA. As they don’t need to be adopted together, they would love it! Both dogs are low key, house broken, good with other dogs and would make a wonderful companion. 
Bridget is a pit mix, almost a year old. She is an awesome dog who has been at the shelter for about a month. 
Pumpkin is a 2 year old female tortoiseshell calico who is very affectionate and playful. She is waiting for her new owner.
